Ashleigh Dyer is a trainee counsellor at The Awareness Centre’s low-cost counselling service in Tooting. Ashleigh works with an integrative therapeutic approach and is pursuing an Advanced Diploma in Integrative Counselling. She is a registered student member with the BACP.

Ashleigh believes that people are fundamentally capable and resourceful. She recognises that people come to therapy for many different reasons, processing something difficult, feeling ‘off’, or looking to see a particular change in themselves. Her approach is rooted in an authentic connection with her clients, and she takes an integrative approach drawing on Gestalt and person-centred ways of working. Her sessions are grounded in the present moment, with particular attention to clients’ experiences here and now to support them in expanding their thinking and exploring their self-awareness. Above all, Ashleigh holds the belief that every person is wholly unique, and whatever brings a client in, she meets them right where they are and works collaboratively to pursue their hopes for therapy.

Ashleigh has a background working in corporate environments and is able to bring her experience into supporting clients who are working through challenges at work, stress, and burnout. As a queer and neurodiverse person from a multicultural family, Ashleigh has personal experience of navigating identity, belonging, and the ways these shape how we see ourselves and move through the world. Ashleigh offers an inclusive space and has a particular interest in supporting members of the LGBTQIA+ community. Clients of all identities and walks of life are welcomed with warmth and acceptance.
