Nicki Brown is an integrative counsellor who offers a safe, compassionate and reflective therapeutic space for individuals experiencing emotional challenges and life transitions. She is a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and a Trauma-Informed Mental Health Practitioner for Schools and Communities (TISUK). Nicki is currently working towards an Advanced Diploma in Integrative Counselling at The Awareness Centre and works with NHS Talking Therapies in Lambeth. Her integrative approach draws on Psychodynamic, Person-Centred and Solution-Focused therapies, allowing her to work collaboratively with each client and develop a therapeutic approach that is responsive to their individual needs and circumstances. She brings sensitivity, empathy and a reflective perspective to her work, supporting clients to explore their experiences and consider meaningful steps towards change.

Nicki believes that taking the step to seek counselling can be a meaningful movement towards change and healing. She works collaboratively with clients to create a therapeutic space in which they can feel safe, heard and supported as they explore their concerns. Her integrative approach enables her to draw from Psychodynamic, Person-Centred and Solution-Focused therapies, depending on what is most appropriate for the individual. Nicki considers therapy to be a journey of self-discovery and empowerment, supporting clients to develop a deeper understanding of themselves and their experiences while exploring possibilities for meaningful change. Her way of working is gentle, reflective and authentic, and she aims to build a therapeutic relationship based on sensitivity, empathy and collaboration.

Nicki has 15 years of experience working with children and teenagers to support their social and emotional wellbeing across school and community settings. As a Trauma-Informed Mental Health Practitioner, she also supports parents and caregivers, creating a healing space for families experiencing times of challenge and change. In addition, Nicki has worked with girls and women through rites of passage, supporting them to honour the uniqueness of their individual paths and explore new possibilities for their lives. These experiences inform her holistic approach to wellbeing, through which she considers the whole person rather than focusing on a single issue. Nicki brings her experience of working across different ages, settings and life experiences into her counselling practice, offering clients a compassionate and supportive space in which they can explore their concerns, develop greater self-awareness and move towards meaningful change.
