Jake is a trainee integrative counsellor currently working towards BACP level 5 diploma in Counselling. He works within The Awareness Centre’s Low-Cost Service online. His therapeutic approach is based on the belief that every individual has the capacity for growth when provided with a safe, compassionate and non-judgemental environment. Drawing on a range of therapeutic practices, he tailors therapy to meet each client’s unique needs, experiences and goals.

Prior to training as a counsellor, Jake spent five years working in the film and television industry, where he developed strong interpersonal skills, resilience and the ability to build positive relationships with people from diverse backgrounds. He also has extensive experience of personal therapy and growth, teaching him that there doesn’t always need to be a crisis to reap the benefits of therapy.

Jake is committed to creating an inclusive, respectful and culturally sensitive space where clients feel genuinely heard, understood and accepted. He recognises that beginning counselling can feel daunting and aims to establish a trusting therapeutic relationship in which clients can explore their thoughts, feelings and experiences without pressure or judgement. His practice is guided by the BACP Ethical Framework, with a strong commitment to confidentiality, reflective practice and ongoing professional development.

Jake welcomes the opportunity to support adults experiencing a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, stress, low self-esteem and life transitions. He approaches every therapeutic relationship with curiosity, warmth and humility, recognising that each client is the expert on their own life. His aim is to provide a collaborative and supportive environment that encourages self-awareness, resilience and meaningful personal growth.
