Nicora is a qualified integrative counsellor working at The Awareness Centre in Clapham, with experience supporting adults and young people who may be experiencing a range of emotional and mental health difficulties. She works within NSPC and BACP ethical frameworks as a qualified member. Her experience includes supporting clients with anxiety, low mood, depression, stress, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, bereavement, trauma, identity, and life changes. She has experience working within NHS services as well as counselling settings, supporting clients through a variety of personal circumstances.

Nicora understands that reaching out for counselling can feel daunting, particularly when it may be difficult to put into words what you are feeling or why you are struggling. She aims to offer a warm, safe, and non-judgemental space where clients can feel comfortable being themselves.

Nicora works primarily from a person-centred approach, believing that the relationship between counsellor and client is an important part of the therapeutic process. She does not expect clients to arrive with everything figured out or to know exactly where to start. Instead, she works alongside each person, taking the time to understand their experiences and what feels important to them. Her integrative approach also allows her to draw on psychodynamic ideas where helpful, gently exploring how past experiences and relationships may be connected to how a client feels or relates in the present. She works at the client’s pace, allowing them the time and space they need.

Nicora believes that counselling should be a space where clients feel heard, valued, and understood, without fear of judgement. She recognises that everyone’s experiences are different and adapts the way she works to meet the individual needs of each client. She works sensitively with people from diverse cultural, racial, religious, and personal backgrounds and aims to create an inclusive space where clients feel able to bring their whole selves. Whether someone is coming to counselling for the first time or has had therapy before, Nicora understands that taking that first step can be difficult. Her aim is to walk alongside each client, helping them to make sense of what they are experiencing and supporting them to move forward in a way that feels right for them.
