Ratchanok Wood
Ratchanok Wood is an integrative counsellor registered with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). She holds a BSc in Counselling and Coaching and is a member (MBACP) actively working towards accreditation. Ratchanok. works in private practice at The Awareness Centre and is dedicated to promoting equity, diversity, and inclusion by offering culturally sensitive counselling services to individuals from varied backgrounds.
While therapy can be a space for warmth, support, exploration, relief, and insight, Ratchanok strives to create a non-judgmental, nurturing environment where clients feel safe and confident to express themselves openly. She believes in recognising and valuing clients for who they truly are. For Ratchanok, therapy is a collaborative journey where the therapist and client work together to explore the factors that have led the client to this point, empowering them to evolve new paths of growth and possibilities. She approaches sessions at the client’s pace, helping them process difficult and painful thoughts and feelings while focusing on their potential. Working integratively, she tailors different modalities, including Person-Centred therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Psychodynamic therapy, to meet the unique needs of each client.
With her background as a head receptionist, mental health support worker, and success coach, Ratchanok is experienced in interacting with a diverse range of people. This foundation in customer service has enhanced her ability to listen and empathise with others. Additionally, she completed three years of her counselling training working with clients from various backgrounds in settings such as charities, secondary schools, and NHS talking therapy, allowing her to understand the diverse challenges faced across different life stages.
