Rebecca is working towards her MA in Integrative Psychotherapy and Counselling and is a student member of the BACP. She has an undergraduate degree in Psychology and Neuroscience and currently works with the Awareness Centre’s low-cost service in Tooting offering face to face counselling and psychotherapy. Rebecca provides a welcoming, non-judgemental and confidential space for clients to reflect on their life experiences, current difficulties and hopes for the future. As an integrative practitioner, she can adapt her therapeutic approach to suit the client’s individual needs; utilising psychodynamic theories about our early relationships, humanistic ideas about our innate capacity to discover and change ourselves or working with practical, cognitive behavioural strategies to feel more at ease.

Rebecca’s background in psychology and neuroscience reflects her keen interest in the connection between the body and mind and understanding of how trauma can stay in and be expressed by the body. Rebecca understands how beginning therapy may be unsettling and bring up anxiety but aims to meet the client wherever they are at and gently discover a path forward together.

Rebecca has a background in working with young people in care and special education which developed her understanding of complex family histories, trauma informed practice, the impact of our social world and the coping mechanisms we tun to. She has volunteered for the East London fertility network and has experience and interest in supporting women experiencing fertility issues. She has also volunteered as a counsellor, working with clients with a wide range of difficulties including depression, anxiety, dissociation and disordered eating. Rebecca believes that counselling and psychotherapy can be transformative and supportive for life’s challenges whatever they may be.
