Saydul Karim
Saydul provides an empathetic, supportive space where clients can open up and feel seen and heard for who they truly are. While counselling helps clients to process difficult or painful thoughts and feelings, he believes that therapy can also focus on the potential of his clients. He works with them to identify and draw on their inner resources to live a fuller, more satisfying life. Saydul takes an integrative approach, blending theories from diverse modalities such as psychodynamic, gestalt, person-centred, existential, ACT, CBT, and transactional analysis to tailor treatment to the individual needs of each client. By drawing on a wide range of therapeutic techniques, Saydul is able to address various aspects of a client’s mental health, from underlying emotional patterns to present-day challenges. This flexible approach allows for a deeper understanding of the client’s experiences, fostering self-awareness and facilitating personal growth. Saydul is committed to creating a safe, empathetic space where clients feel supported in their journey toward healing and self-discovery.
With a background in working with vulnerable asylum seekers, Saydul has an interest and experience in working with displaced individuals from war-torn countries, as well as those who have fled persecution. He understands the internal and external pressures people can put on themselves, which can lead to unhelpful or damaging coping strategies. He works to identify healthier ways of managing emotions and stress.
Saydul is currently working towards an PGDip/MSc in Integrative Counselling and Coaching. Saydul Karim is an integrative counsellor and is member of BACP. He works within The Awareness Centre’s NHS Sutton counselling service.
