Sinthia Tijan is an experienced and qualified Integrative Counsellor with a background in business management. She understands the stresses of working to deadlines, managing other people’s expectations and holding responsibility at a high level.
Sinthia has worked as a primary counsellor, family therapist, a group facilitator in various settings particularly within the addiction sector and ran parenting skills groups. Sinthia has worked with C.R.I. (Crime Reduction Initiative) which allowed her to deeply understand drug and alcohol dependency, dual diagnosis, violence, shock, trauma, self-harm and sexual issues. She has also worked with clients who have been involved with the child protection services as well as the criminal justice system. Over the last six years Sinithia has worked with carers who often feel isolated and invisible.
Sinthia is currently working as a counsellor in a major South London Hospital where she closely works with two consultants who specialise in treating patients experiencing hearing loss as well as having balance issues. Their patients are referred to Sinthia for short-term or open-ended therapy. She also works in private practice offering individual and couple therapy in London and Surrey and provides a confidential, non-judgmental, nurturing space for you to explore any issues.
As an integrative therapist Sinthia will draw on different aspects of various therapeutic models when working with clients. During your time in therapy with Sinthia you can explore relationship issues either present or historic, boundary issues and belief systems that impact your life. She will also support you in developing new coping strategies. She is also available for crisis counselling and short notice appointments.
Sinthia works in private practice at The Awareness Centre in Clapham. She offers therapy in English, Bosnian, Croatian and Serbian.
