Elizabeth Lawrence

Elizabeth Lawrence Dip. Counselling Reg. MBACP (Accred), began counselling clients in 2010. She provides a safe and confidential space to promote a trusting working relationship with individuals so that they have the confidence to speak about personal thoughts, feelings and difficult situations they may be struggling to deal with alone. Liz has an integrative approach (meaning she has trained in different counselling approaches); through being able to work with different approaches, she is able to tailor her skills to work with the individual needs of each of her clients. Liz works in a way to emphasise the personal worth of an individual, giving them the confidence to identify and draw on their innate abilities to deal with their circumstances and lead rich and fulfilling lives.

With a background of working in Criminal Justice and also as a Manager in the Health and Social Care Sector, Liz has an interest and experience of working with confidence and self-esteem issues as well as assertiveness and conflict resolution. Through her career journey, Liz has gained a deep insight into how life’s pressures can affect people, which can lead to unhelpful or damaging ways of managing this. Liz works to identify healthier ways of managing emotions and stress. She also specialises in anxiety, self-harm, bereavement, and has a special interest in eating disorders.

Liz Lawrence is an integrative counsellor, and is a registered member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists. Her other qualifications include a Diploma in therapeutic counselling, and a certificate in specialised bereavement training. She works in private practice at The Awareness Centre in Clapham and in Tooting.
