Sonata Laureckyte is currently undertaking advanced clinical training in Integrative Counselling and is a member of the BACP and NCPS, as well as a Graduate Member of the British Psychological Society (GMBPsS). She is completing a placement within NHS services and also volunteers with the Shout crisis text service, supporting individuals experiencing emotional distress. Her academic background includes a BSc in Psychology with Business, an MSc in Occupational and Business Psychology, a Graduate Certificate in Psychodynamic Practice, and a Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training. Sonata brings together psychological knowledge and therapeutic understanding in a thoughtful, grounded, and compassionate way, supporting clients with care, professionalism, and sensitivity.
Sonata offers a warm, empathic, and non-judgemental space where clients can feel safe to explore difficult thoughts, emotions, and experiences. She understands that beginning therapy can feel unfamiliar or overwhelming and works collaboratively at a pace that feels comfortable for each client. Her integrative approach allows her to draw on different therapeutic models depending on individual needs, including psychodynamic thinking to explore how past experiences and relationship patterns may influence present difficulties. Sonata places strong value on the therapeutic relationship and believes that feeling heard, understood, and accepted can support meaningful change and greater self-awareness. She offers therapy in both English and Lithuanian, enabling clients to express themselves in the language they feel most at ease using.
With a background in occupational psychology, Sonata has a particular interest in workplace stress, burnout, and the impact of professional pressures on emotional wellbeing. She has experience supporting clients with anxiety, stress, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, and family dynamics, as well as those navigating pregnancy, childbirth, and life transitions. Her experience in mental health support roles has deepened her understanding of how people cope during periods of crisis, uncertainty, and emotional overwhelm. Sonata brings a calm, compassionate, and reflective presence to her work, supporting clients to better understand themselves and move towards lasting and manageable change.
