Sophie Gale
Sophie provides a supportive space for clients to bring themselves and the parts of their lives that are on their mind. She takes the position that it can be difficult to see all parts of ourselves, our experiences, and our connections with others, and she considers therapy to offer a space for thoughts, feelings and patterns that haven’t yet had a chance to be seen or named, to be explored. Sophie believes that we are hurt in relationships, and we also heal through relationships, so she therefore aims to work in a relational way with her clients where building trust is a central part of the work together.
With a background as a therapeutic practitioner in community mental health services, Sophie has experience working with people from a wide range of backgrounds who are navigating difficult life circumstances which are affecting their mental health and wellbeing. She has particular experience working with people experiencing anxiety, depression, and suicidal ideation. She is currently researching the links between depression and experiences of social isolation and loneliness.
Sophie is currently working towards an MA in psychodynamic counselling and psychotherapy. Sophie Gale is a psychodynamic psychotherapist and is a registered member of the BACP. She works within the Awareness Centre’s NHS Wandsworth counselling service as well as in private practice.
