Rani Ghosh-Curling
Rani is a trainee integrative counsellor and a student member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). She works with the Awareness Centre’s Low-Cost Counselling Services from their Clapham branch whilst working towards a Level 4 Diploma in Integrative Counselling.
Rani creates space where awareness can be explored in more meaningful ways. She believes all people are deserving of a life that addresses what is important for them. To support this process Rani works integratively using somatic therapies which are humanistic in approach. This can allow work to be experienced relationally as well as felt authentically. Rani recognises systemic and generational distress and can resourcefully blend existential therapies with modes of person-centred and psychodynamic theory to support the work and any challenges that can come up along the way.
Rani has a multi heritage background and grew up between London and Leeds. She has worked within the fashion textile and retail industries across different countries for over twenty years. This has given her deep insights into the social and societal behaviours and subcultures of industries and particularly the communities affected by them. It is in part Rani‘s recognition of impacted individuals and their communities, that, alongside Rani‘s own personal experiences spurred her on to become a trainee therapist.
Rani practices a curiosity for the challenges that people face which can span relationships, anxiety, abuse, health and wellbeing to name a few. She has an appreciation for difference, viewing life not as binary Rani considers progressive and inclusive ways of working with her clients to ensure that their needs are put first.
