Rani is a trainee counsellor and a student member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). She works with the Awareness Centre as a trainee counsellor on their Low-Cost Counselling Services team from their Clapham branch. Rani is working towards a Level 4 Diploma in Integrative Counselling.

A trainee therapist, Rani practices creating space where awareness can be explored in more meaningful ways. She believes all people are deserving of a life that addresses what is important for them. Rani works integratively with existential and humanistic modalities, which are person-centred and somatic in approach. This can facilitate the therapeutic process to be felt authentically whilst being experienced more relationally.

With a multi heritage background, growing up between London and Leeds, Rani developed an appreciation for economical, systemic and generational distress. She resourcefully blends modalities with theory to support her approach and the challenges that may come up for her clients along the way. She has worked within the fashion textile and retail industries across different countries for over twenty years. This has given Rani deeper insights into the problematic social and environmental impact these industries can have on individuals and their wider communities. It is in part Rani‘s recognition of affected individuals and their communities, that, alongside Rani‘s own personal experiences spurred her on to become a trainee therapist.

Rani has a curiosity for the challenges that people face which can span life transitions, relationships, anxiety, abuse, health and wellbeing to name a few. With an appreciation for pluralism, Rani practices humility as she considers progressive and inclusive ways of working with her clients to ensure that their needs are put first.
