Simone De Melis is an integrative counsellor and a Registered Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP). He holds a BSc Hons in Counselling from the University of East London and works in private practice at The Awareness Centre in Clapham. Simone offers an empathic, warm and non-judgmental therapeutic space where clients can feel safe to express themselves freely. He believes that therapy is a place where individuals can discover not only how to navigate their difficulties, but also how to unlock and cultivate their strengths and potential. At the heart of his work is the belief that meaningful change is possible when clients feel supported, understood and empowered. As an integrative and pluralistic practitioner, Simone draws from a range of therapeutic approaches so he can respond flexibly to each client’s unique needs. He may use aspects of Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy, the insight of Psychodynamic therapy and the paradoxes of Existential therapy. He has also developed a particular interest in Systemic and Strategic therapy approaches which inform his work. Simone has a strong professional focus on obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), supported by specialised training and research in this area. His experience also includes working with depression, anxiety, difficulties with concentration and memory, and relational or family conflicts. He is particularly interested in how communication patterns shape relationships and how transforming these patterns can lead to meaningful, long-lasting change. Simone’s approach is grounded in empathy, collaboration and respect for each client’s autonomy. His aim is to create a safe, responsive and personalised therapeutic space where clients can move towards greater understanding, resilience and emotional wellbeing.
