
Philippa Madden – Senior Course Supervisor
Philippa Madden is the Senior Course Supervisor for the TAC Diploma in Integrative Counselling. And qualified as an Integrative Psychotherapeutic Counsellor (BSc Hons at Roehampton University 2012). In 2014 Philippa qualified with a Diploma in Clinical Supervision of Both Individuals and Groups, whilst managing two counselling services for Mind in Tower Hamlets and Newham.
In 2020 Philippa then went on to qualify as a Trauma Therapist to help enhance her skills and knowledge whilst working with male prisoners at HMP Brixton for six years, where she was also was the Clinical Lead managing team of four qualified counsellors and psychotherapists.
Philippa has had over 18 years’ experience in managing various counselling and mental health services including Talking Therapy services within the NHS.
Before starting her journey to become a qualified therapist, she was the Centre Manager for The Awareness Centre from 2006 until 2009.
Philippa really enjoys working and supporting students, and has a passion to help build skills, ability and confidence in all those she supervises, seeing many students over the past three years, from the beginning to the end of their journey whilst on the diploma course.
Having had extensive experience of working with trainees over the years, as well as fully with qualified therapists, both within line management and clinical supervision roles, Philippa has worked with The Awareness Centre Training School since May 2022 as a course supervisor and more recently as Senior Course Supervisor where she now supervises the full team of Course Supervisors at the TAC Training School.
Philippa is currently the Clinical Supervisor for Senior NHS Counsellors at HMP Brixton and also runs a busy private practice based in South West London, offering private Clinical Supervision, Couples and Relationship Therapy, Trauma Focussed Therapy and an Integrative approach of Counselling and Psychotherapy.
