Ade Dabiri
Ade Dabiri is an integrative counsellor and a registered member of the BACP. He works within The Awareness Centre’s low-cost counselling service in Tooting and is currently working towards a Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling.
Ade believes that at the heart of effective therapy is the relationship between counsellor and client. He works collaboratively, tailoring his approach to each individual’s needs while ensuring structure and clear goals are in place. He integrates person-centred techniques to create an accepting environment where clients can bring their full selves into the room. Drawing on psychodynamic principles, he helps clients explore how past experiences and unconscious patterns may be shaping their present struggles. Additionally, he incorporates Gestalt techniques, using creative and experiential methods to deepen self-awareness and encourage clients to connect with their emotions in the here and now. His approach is both compassionate and pragmatic, supporting clients in developing insight while also making meaningful changes in their lives.
Before training as a counsellor, Ade worked as a data scientist in the tech industry, gaining firsthand experience of high-pressure working environments across both large corporations and fast-paced start-ups. This background gives him a deep understanding of workplace stress, burnout, and the toll that professional demands can take on mental health and overall wellbeing. He has a particular interest in supporting clients experiencing anxiety, depression, isolation, loneliness, and self-esteem challenges. Ade is passionate about helping clients reconnect with their strengths, navigate difficult emotions, and find new ways to move forward with greater confidence and resilience.
