Alina Badescu
Alina takes an integrative approach to her work, customising her methods for each client to meet their unique needs. She incorporates various therapeutic techniques, drawing on the psychodynamic approach to unveil unconscious thoughts and behaviours, gestalt therapy that focuses on the present moment and the client’s current experience, while Transactional Analysis explores the different ego states of Parent, Adult, and Child to help understand the self and others. Moreover, Alina employs a person-centred approach and solution-focused therapy, ensuring that the focus remains on the client and their specific goals.
Drawing from a background in management and various other roles, Alina has a strong interest in exploring each client’s unique inner world non-judgmentally to support their healing journey. She believes that nobody is broken in need of fixing but rather deeply hurt, in need of care and that, with sufficient support, a client can release their defensive self-protection to reveal their innate worth, wisdom and creativity – their greatness. Alina strongly believes that each person holds the potential for positive change and, as a therapist, her role is to create a safe, nurturing and collaborative space where clients can explore their thoughts, emotions and experiences and uncover the transformative solutions within. It takes tremendous courage to confront what seems like searching in the dark for an unknown source of pain.
She offers a container of sorts for the feelings and memories that you might be unable to handle alone. Together you’ll build trust, gain perspective and find healing tools that work best for you. Alina is a student member of the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP), working towards a Diploma in Integrative Counselling, and works according to the Ethical Framework of the BACP. She is currently on clinical placement at The Awareness Centre’s NHS service – Talk Wandsworth.
