Aoibhinn O’ Sullivan
Aoibhinn provides an empathetic and non-judgemental space where clients can feel safe to open up and to be truly heard. Her aim is to help clients explore their own feelings and experiences and to become aware of what is truly going on in their inside world. She is aware of how difficult even stepping into the therapy room can be and aims to build a nurturing space where clients feel able to speak freely and work towards their goals. Aoibhinn firmly believes in the strength of the therapeutic relationship and works collaboratively with clients to help them on their journey. She believes that every client, whether they know it or not, has their own solution and that sometimes it can take a while to find it. Her job is to help the client work towards finding their own solution in a safe and contained way.
Aoibhinn has a background in working within the criminal justice system. For the last few years, she has worked in a charity that specifically supports women with convictions. She helps them to build their confidence and self-esteem, explore the background, past traumas and reasons for their offending and help support them with their employment goals. This work has led her to study counselling and psychotherapy as she believes more mental health support should be given to those who have experienced the criminal justice system. This work has informed her own practise, as she works in a non-judgemental and trauma-informed way with all of her clients. She is passionate about ensuring mental health support is accessible to all.
Aoibhinn is currently working towards a postgraduate Diploma and Masters in Integrative Psychotherapy and Counselling. She is a registered member of the BACP and is working at NHS Wandsworth Talking Services.
