Berenice Mumbru is an experienced Psychotherapist and works in private practice at The Awareness Centre in Clapham. She offers both in person and online weekly sessions for 50 minutes, in English or Spanish. She is a member of the British Psychological Society.

She adopts a multi-model integrated approach to therapy, using evidence-based techniques from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT). She has experience working with a range of psychological and emotional challenges, including work-life balance, life transitions, stress, anxiety, panic attacks, depression, low self-esteem, self-critical thoughts, shame, relationship problems and attachment difficulties. She works collaboratively with clients tailoring interventions to suit each individual’s unique and specific needs.

Berenice is warm, supportive and dedicated. She provides a safe, supportive and confidential space where clients can open up and feel seen and heard. Her non-judgemental approach enables her to build positive, trusting and meaningful relationships. In her work, she focuses on helping clients increase self-awareness, improve their self-esteem, set healthy boundaries, develop emotional self-regulation, interpersonal and communication skills, stress management strategies, and overcome anxiety and depression.

Berenice cares not only about relieving clients’ symptoms but also assisting them in gaining autonomy as they acquire the tools and techniques to prevent further psychological problems in life. She helps clients create a life aligned with their values and aspirations, and develop a kinder and more understanding relationship with themselves. Berenice is passionate about helping clients to thrive and flourish, and brings Positive Psychology elements to the therapy room (PERMA Model). She doesn’t just aim to reduce suffering, but also increase positive emotions and life satisfaction.

Berenice has an undergraduate degree in Psychology, and is in the final stages of her second master’s degree in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. She has completed various other trainings and CPD, including Mindfulness, Emotional Intelligence, Positive Psychology and Third-Wave Therapies. Additionally, she also facilitates wellbeing workshops at festivals, retreats and wellness centres. She follows the BACP ethical guidelines in her work.
