Clarinda Cuppage works as an integrative psychotherapist and is a registered member of both the UKCP and the BACP.  She holds a MA in Advanced Clinical Practice and a Diploma in Integrative Psychosynthesis Counselling and works in private practice at The Awareness Centre in Clapham.

Clarinda works relationally, building a warm and empathic space where clients can explore, at their own pace, the issues and concerns they are experiencing. She sees the therapeutic process as collaborative, rather than prescriptive, and supports clients to discover what is the best for themselves. Clarinda is interested to understand what happened to you, and to explore how experiences may have shaped you. She does not see clients as people who need fixing, rather as people who may be feeling stuck, concerned about their relationships or behaviours, and who need support, understanding and healing from their inner experiences and wounding.  Clarinda supports people to make greater sense of themselves and to develop the emotional and practical skills to thrive.

Working as an integrative therapist, Clarinda draws upon different theoretical models, such as psychodynamic, trauma informed, gestalt, relational and transpersonal to support clients to explore their experiences and make changes for their growth. She recognises how guilt and shame can be a significant barrier to creating healthy relationships and works to bring to awareness of how these emotions can impact us.  Holding a trauma informed lens, she encourages awareness of the impact of trauma on the body and includes practical body-based work for grounding to build greater internal safety and trust, and to create change from often difficult relational patterns. With considerable experience of working with people in recovery from addiction and abuse, including adult and childhood sexual abuse, like all BACP and UKCP registered psychotherapists Clarinda has experience of working with a wide range of issues
