Chiara Salvatori
Chiara Salvatori is a trainee counsellor who is registered with the BACP. She currently works within The Awareness Centre’s low-cost counselling service in Tooting. Chiara is currently working towards an Advanced Diploma in Integrative Counselling. She carefully follows professional guidelines to make sure her clients are always safe and well cared for. By working closely with her supervisors every week, Chiara makes sure her skills are always growing to give the absolute best possible support to the people she helps.
Chiara has a warm, calm, and friendly way of working. She wants to give her clients a safe, comfortable space where they can talk openly without ever feeling judged. She uses an integrative approach, which means she brings together different tools to help each person in the way that works best for them. At the heart of her work is the Person-Centred approach. This means she focuses on truly listening and deeply understanding what the client is going through right now. If a client wants to make practical changes, she can use a Solution Focused approach to help them reach their personal goals. Chiara speaks English fluently and can also offer therapy sessions in her native language, Italian.
Before starting her clinical work, Chiara studied Psychology and Philosophy at university. This gave her a strong understanding of how people think and feel. Chiara also has important personal life experiences that help her connect deeply with her clients. As a neurodivergent person herself, she has a personal understanding of some of the experiences and challenges that neurodivergent individuals may encounter. She recognises, however, that each person’s experience is unique and approaches every client with openness, curiosity and without assumptions. She also has valuable experience giving emotional support to people living with cancer during difficult times. Today, Chiara uses all these experiences to help her clients feel truly seen and understood. She specialises in helping people cope with big life changes and managing daily anxiety. Her main goal is to help each person find their own way forward so they can live a happier and more fulfilling life.
