Daniel Woods is an integrative and relational therapist in training, working towards a Diploma/MA in Integrative Psychotherapy at Minster Centre, and is registered with the BACP. They work as a trainee psychotherapist within The Awareness Centre’s low-cost service in Clapham.
Daniel is a passionate advocate for the power of therapy, seeing the therapy room as a safe, brave, and supportive space that clients can use for themselves, offering the opportunity for exploration, restoration, and transformation. Daniel holds that space for their clients, offering a compassionate, empathetic approach to support clients in their goals without judgement or shame. As an integrative therapist, they draw on a wide range of theoretical models and skills that can be tailored to suit the clients’ needs, with space for collaboration, curiosity, and creativity within the therapeutic relationship.
From the relational perspective, Daniel believes that a greater understanding of the way we are in our relationships with others can help us to make meaning and sense of the world we live in. Daniel makes space for clients to talk and think about their relationships with the people in their lives, as well as the ‘here and now’ relationship between client and therapist that happens in the therapy room. Daniel holds an awareness of the impact of their intersectional positionality in the world and how it might show up in their work, allowing clients to explore their own positionality in an open and curious way. Daniel has worked with clients from a variety of backgrounds and age groups, discussing issues such as anxiety, depression, loss, finances, guilt & shame, gender, identity & sexuality.
