Flora Henderson
Flora is a trainee integrative counsellor offering a warm, reflective, and collaborative space in which you can explore what feels difficult, confusing, or painful in your life. She works relationally, meaning that she sees the therapeutic relationship itself as central to healing, and she practises in line with the guidelines of the UKCP. Feeling understood, safe, and genuinely met is often the foundation for meaningful change. Flora’s approach is grounded in a relational and existential perspective, informed by attachment theory, trauma-informed practice, and feminist and social justice thinking. She is interested not only in your individual experiences, but also in the wider personal, relational, and cultural contexts that shape how you see yourself and the world.
Flora is particularly interested in how early relationships, life experiences, and social pressures influence our sense of self, our emotional regulation, and our relationships with others. Many of the people she works with struggle with anxiety, shame, low self-worth, relational difficulties, or a sense of disconnection from themselves or others. Flora aims to help you develop greater understanding, self-compassion, and agency at a pace that feels right for you. She works collaboratively to support you in making sense of your experiences and exploring what might help you move forward.
Flora draws on a range of therapeutic approaches, including attachment-based work, compassion-focused therapy, parts-informed approaches, and embodied and relational practices. Rather than applying techniques rigidly, she adapts her way of working to suit your needs, preferences, and readiness. She values transparency and strives to work in a way that feels respectful, empowering, and supportive of your autonomy. Alongside her clinical work, Flora engages in regular supervision, ongoing training, and personal reflection to ensure that her practice remains ethical, responsive, and grounded, offering a calm, thoughtful, and compassionate space in which you can explore your experiences and reconnect with what matters most to you.
