Gaia Gambacciani is a person-centred psychotherapist currently entering her third year of training at Metanoia Institute. She is a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and is fully committed to developing her skills to provide the highest quality of care for her clients. Her training focuses on person-centred therapy, a modality that emphasises empathy, unconditional positive regard, and the client’s own capacity for growth and self-discovery. She works within the Low Cost Counselling Services in Clapham.

Gaia believes in creating a warm, non-judgmental therapeutic space where clients feel truly seen and heard. She believes that therapy is a collaborative journey that supports clients in reconnecting with their authentic selves and unlocking their inherent potential. Drawing on the principles of person-centred therapy, she works to create conditions that foster self-acceptance and resilience. Her approach is deeply influenced by Carl Rogers’ concept of the self-actualising tendency-the innate drive within all individuals to grow and thrive despite adversity. This philosophy shapes her practice, encouraging clients to explore their experiences at their own pace and find meaningful ways to overcome challenges.

Before training as a therapist, Gaia navigated a complex personal journey shaped by high familial expectations and her own struggles with identity and eating disorders. Her lived experience with the pressures of perfectionism, self-worth, and recovery informs her empathetic understanding of clients facing similar issues. She has a special interest in supporting those dealing with anxiety, eating disorders, and the impact of societal and familial pressures on mental health. Her background outside therapy enriches her ability to connect with clients seeking compassionate, authentic support.
