Gail Walker- Head of Counselling

Gail Walker is Head of Counselling within The Awareness Centre, managing our NHS Wandsworth and Sutton services; and responsible for developing our contracted services within the agency. Her role includes new business tenders, networking and working closely with our stakeholders whilst supporting our clinical teams to ensure key performance targets are reached; and our services are delivered to the highest standards. She enjoys training and supporting our therapists; ensuring the well-being of both clients and therapists are closely monitored for best possible outcomes.

Gail brings experience from a business marketing background, where she ran her own agency for over a decade; creating and implementing worldwide campaigns for brands, organisations, leading charities and UK based NHS health promotions. Throughout her professional career, her focus has always been to combine strategic management skills in an approach that mentors’ others, promotes inclusivity and supports change for growth.

As a qualified, BACP registered Integrative therapist and Clinical Supervisor, Gail also runs a successful private practice in South West London. She is passionate in reducing stigmas and barriers in accessing counselling and psychotherapy services, with a keen focus to support clients suffering from childhood trauma or with more complex psychological needs.
