Hamish Travers provides a space for his clients where they feel safe to explore their feelings and experiences in the process of becoming more aware of how their world works.  He seeks to work with his clients in the present day and understand their issues employing a humanistic approach.  He takes an integrative therapeutic approach to his work, drawing on a selection of Psychodynamic techniques to understand how past experiences influence our lives today and Transactional Analysis to explore ego states of Parent, Adult and Child and the roles we play. He believes listening deeply to his client’s challenges and working closely together offers the support his clients need to find a new path forward. Hamish’s therapeutic style of working is warm, empathetic, collaborative and tailored based on the needs of his clients.

Hamish has an extensive history working in marketing, coaching and mentoring.  Having spent the early part of his career starting and running a business, he understands the pressures people can go through in their lives and it’s impact on their mental health.  He has spent a considerable time as a Head tennis coach in his local community and understands how active listening, talking and exercise can provide a different but connected way for people to express themselves and improve their mood and relationships.  He has experience working with a diverse range of adults of all ages.

Hamish is currently working towards a postgraduate Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling.  He is a registered member of the BACP and is on placement at NHS Wandsworth Talking therapies.
