Kate Gilmore
Kate Gilmore is a trainee integrative counsellor registered with the BACP. She works for The Awareness Centre with NHS patients in Wandsworth. Kate is currently working towards an Advanced Diploma in Integrative Counselling. Kate believes that every person is unique and that therapy should be tailored to the individual rather than following a one-size-fits-all approach. As an integrative counsellor, she draws on a range of therapeutic theories and techniques, adapting her approach to meet each client’s needs and circumstances. She aims to provide a safe, warm, and non-judgemental space where clients can explore their thoughts, feelings, and experiences at their own pace.
Central to Kate’s work is the therapeutic relationship. She values creating a trusting and collaborative environment where clients feel heard, respected, and understood. Through compassionate curiosity and reflection, she supports clients in developing greater self-awareness, gaining insight into patterns in their lives, and working towards meaningful and lasting change. Kate welcomes clients from all backgrounds and is committed to providing an inclusive and supportive environment. Kate has a particular interest in supporting clients experiencing anxiety, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, life transitions, work-related stress, and challenges around confidence and self-worth. Whatever brings a client to counselling, she strives to offer a supportive space where they can better understand themselves, build resilience, and move towards the changes they wish to make in their lives.
Before training as a counsellor, Kate spent over 12 years working in leadership, coaching, and people development within large organisations. Throughout her career, she supported individuals navigating change, uncertainty, workplace challenges, and personal growth. This experience gave her a deep appreciation of the complex pressures people can face in both their professional and personal lives and continues to inform her empathic and collaborative approach to counselling.
