Kim Nguyen
Kim Nguyen is a psychodynamic therapist and is registered with the BACP. She holds a Masters in Psychodynamic Counselling & Psychotherapy. Kim works in private practice at The Awareness Centre in Tooting.
Kim has extensive experience working with sexual trauma and attachment-based trauma. She works collaboratively with clients to understand the underlying causes of their current difficulties, and helps clients to build greater self-awareness towards lasting change.
Before working privately, Kim worked in the NHS and the charity sector, where she provided consistent and reliable listening support to individuals experiencing suicidal thoughts and feelings, to talk openly about their emotional pain without being judged. Kim also supervised a team of listening volunteers and trained volunteers to become supervisors.
Kim is committed to anti-oppressive practice and provides a supportive and reflective space for individuals to explore their struggles. Kim additionally holds a Masters in Gender and offers a perspective that acknowledges the broader social and cultural influences on a person’s worldview. Her therapeutic style is compassionate, and rooted in establishing a strong, trusting relationship.
