Lisa Guy provides her clients a warm, supportive and non-judgemental therapeutic environment. She works with clients to explore their thoughts, feelings and emotions, enabling them to gain a clearer understanding of their life experience, and to find their way towards a more fulfilling life. She understands that it can be difficult to make sense of life events and changes and believes it is important to offer a safe, trustworthy and confidential space for clients to not only embark on a journey of self-exploration and change, but to also gain a feeling of value and self-worth which is important for self-development and growth.

Lisa uses an integrative approach to counselling, which means she draws from several theoretical approaches, and tailors them to the unique needs of her clients. Lisa works with the person centred, humanistic and psychodynamic models, and aims to offer a space which enables her clients to safely explore the issues which they choose to work through, at their own pace.

Lisa has a background in IT and has developed an understanding of the challenges of the work environment and how it can impact the personal areas of an individual’s life, and vice versa. She has an interest in depression, stress, workplace and communication issues, self-esteem and self-confidence, family and relationship issues, and has gained experience in supporting colleagues experiencing these challenges. She developed a passion for Counselling upon learning and understanding for herself how therapy can bring about helpful and positive change within a person’s life.  Since gaining experience by providing mentoring support within IT, and volunteering at Norwood and Brixton Foodbank, she has built upon her desire to work therapeutically with clients from various walks of life and to learn how to support them.

Lisa has a CPCAB Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling and is a member of BACP. She is a placement counsellor based at The Awareness Centre in Tooting where she works within the Low-Cost Counselling Service.
