Mary Coote is a trainee integrative counsellor and a registered student member of the BACP. She is currently working towards an Advanced Diploma in Integrative Counselling at The Awareness Centre and is developing her clinical practice at Wandsworth through supervised client work, ongoing learning and reflective practice. Mary works with adults in a therapeutic setting, offering a confidential, compassionate and supportive space where clients can explore their experiences and challenges. Her integrative approach allows her to draw from a range of therapeutic theories and techniques, enabling her to adapt her work to meet the individual needs, preferences and goals of each client. She is guided by the BACP Ethical Framework and is committed to providing ethical, respectful and client-centred support.

Mary believes that a strong therapeutic relationship is at the heart of meaningful change. She offers a warm, empathetic and non-judgemental environment where clients can feel heard, valued and accepted. Through her integrative approach, Mary works collaboratively with clients to explore their thoughts, emotions, behaviours and relationships, supporting them in developing greater self-awareness and understanding. She recognises that each person’s story is unique and that therapy should be tailored to reflect their individual experiences and pace. Mary has a particular interest in working in a neuro-affirming way with autistic and ADHD clients, acknowledging the importance of recognising individual strengths, needs and ways of experiencing the world. She aims to create a safe space where clients feel able to explore difficult emotions, life experiences and personal challenges without fear of judgement.

Alongside her counselling training, Mary has experience supporting individuals with a range of emotional and psychological difficulties, including anxiety, stress, low self-esteem, emotional overwhelm, life transitions, identity concerns, self-worth challenges, ADHD and autism-related experiences. Before becoming a therapist, Mary’s previous experiences of supporting and working with people have shaped her compassionate and understanding approach, strengthening her appreciation of the complexity of individual journeys. Mary welcomes clients from diverse backgrounds and is passionate about helping people develop greater self-understanding, resilience and self-compassion while supporting them towards meaningful personal growth.
