Nick Greene
Nick takes an integrative approach to therapy, which means he draws on different ways of working to find out what works best for each individual and unique client. He works collaboratively with the client in a person-centred approach to help them find their own way forward, free from agenda. He appreciates that coming to counselling can be daunting and offers a warm, empathic and safe space to explore the life issues that have brought you here. He understands that you may be unable to talk to family or friends and would like to talk with someone who remains impartial. He believes that once trust is established then a true therapeutic relationship can enable the client to better understand themselves, their feelings and behaviours along with the affect this may be having on their everyday life.
Nick brings real life experience into his work with clients, he comes from a hospitality background where he is learnt to deal with people from many different walks of life. Through his warm, compassionate and non-judgemental approach he is able to help the client open up about the issues that are affecting them, help them realise the stress and pressure that that they themselves (and others) may be putting on them, the affect this can have on how and why they currently think as they do and the feelings that may lead to unhelpful coping strategies and behaviour. Through his integrative approach you will gain a greater understanding and self-awareness of these internal processes, and then, going forward, be able to make positive and beneficial changes and healthier strategies to manage these stresses and emotions. He will be there to help and support you on this journey.
Nick is an integrative counsellor and is registered with BACP. He works within The Awareness Centre’s counselling service in Sutton.
