Nicole Neumann is an integrative counsellor psychologist, psychotherapist trainee, and a member of the UKCP. She has a BSc and two MScs and is in a doctoral program to earn full accreditation with the UKCP, BACP and HCPC. She works within The Awareness Centre’s low cost counselling service in Clapham, as well as at the NHS and a psychodynamic charity practice.

Nicole’s relational lead approach provides a caring and encouraging space where clients can feel heard and safe to share their stories. Nicole does not believe in a one-model ‘fit all approach’ and so she integrates different approaches and modalities depending on the client’s current distress and therapeutic goals. She may use CBT to help clients develop coping skills and awareness of their thoughts and behaviours, Psychodynamic Psychotherapy to support with managing childhood experiences and develop healthier relationships, and Creative Therapies as tools to help clients put their feelings into words such as Art Therapy or Dance Movement Therapy and Systemic Therapy by creating genograps to help with family dynamics and managing transgenerational trauma.

With a background in criminology, Nicole is interested in inpatient settings and has worked in mental health hospitals with schizophrenia, psychosis and personality disorders with an interest in promoting psychotherapy such as art therapies. Therapy sessions with Nicole take place in English, however she is cross-cultured and can understand French, Portuguese and Spanish well and has a specialisation in cultural psychology. Nicole is aware of the influence of someone’s culture on their thoughts, behaviours and mental health. She also specialises in anxiety, depression and bereavement and has experience working and researching neurodivergence, in particular, ADHD and ASD.
