Pamela Estrella
Pamela’s approach is rooted in the belief that our present reality is shaped and influenced by past experiences. She works relationally with clients, focusing on the here-and-now, while acknowledging the importance of the past in forming one’s current identity. With a strong belief in autonomy, Pamela supports clients in accessing their own inner resources and solutions, empowering them to make lasting positive changes. Her approach is deeply empathetic, creating a safe space where clients feel heard, seen, and understood.
Pamela’s life experiences of traveling and immersing herself in different cultures have significantly shaped her therapeutic practice. These experiences have deepened her understanding of how cultural and environmental factors influence an individual’s identity, worldview, and emotional well-being. She has also worked extensively with migrants, gaining insight into the unique challenges they face, such as displacement, cultural adjustment, and loss of identity. Pamela’s awareness of these issues enables her to provide sensitive and culturally attuned support, helping individuals navigate the complexities of their experiences while honouring their cultural heritage. Through working with people with complex trauma, addiction and mental health for the last 15 years, she has developed an understanding of how people can work through and recover from even the most difficult circumstances. Pamela is committed to ongoing professional development and sees being a therapist as a process of continual growth and awareness, “The therapist must have done the work themselves to be able to create a place of safety, to help guide another through the process.
Her integrative approach is rooted in the understanding that no single therapeutic method works for everyone. By drawing on a range of theories and techniques, she is able to adapt her approach to suit the unique needs, personality, and challenges of each individual. This flexibility allows her to create a tailored therapeutic experience that addresses the specific issues a client brings, ensuring the process is both organic and respectful of their individuality. Acknowledging the complexity of human experiences and providing the tools to work holistically, to support meaningful and lasting change.
