Rosa Mauger is a trainee integrative counsellor registered with the BACP. She works within The Awareness Centre’s low-cost counselling service in Clapham and also provides support to adult students at a training provider in London. Currently, Rosa is working towards the Advanced Diploma in Integrative Counselling.
Rosa offers a warm, empathic and non-judgemental space where clients can feel genuinely heard, accepted, and safe to explore whatever feels most important to them. She understands that starting therapy can sometimes feel daunting and works sensitively, allowing clients to explore their thoughts and feelings at their own pace. She believes that a supportive therapeutic relationship can help clients develop a stronger sense of self and better understand their feelings and experiences. Rosa works in an integrative, person-centred way, drawing on different therapeutic approaches depending on what feels most helpful for each client. She may draw on Transactional Analysis to help clients explore relationship patterns, alongside Gestalt therapy techniques that encourage greater awareness of thoughts, feelings and the connection between mind and body. By understanding how past experiences can shape current relationships, emotions and responses, clients can begin to make sense of difficult feelings and move towards a more fulfilling and authentic life.
Rosa has particular awareness of the lasting impact that childhood experiences can have in adulthood. She has experience supporting clients with issues including anxiety, parental loss, parenting challenges, and family and social dynamics. Her warmth, curiosity, and empathy help clients to recognise and build on their own inner strengths and resources.
Before training as a counsellor, Rosa worked in acting and the performing arts, experiences that continue to shape the way she works with clients. Her background in the performing arts developed her understanding of emotions, communication and relationships. Combined with her experience of raising a family, this helps her offer warm, thoughtful support to clients experiencing emotional difficulties and life transitions. Rosa is committed to creating a safe and accepting space where clients can express themselves freely while feeling supported in exploring their feelings and challenges. She believes that therapy can help people feel more connected to themselves and more able to navigate life’s challenges.
