Rose Simpson is a qualified, experienced and accredited psychotherapist, working in private practice at The Awareness Centre in Clapham. She has a MSc in counselling and psychotherapy.

Rose offers both short- and long-term therapy. Short term therapy can be helpful when dealing with a discrete issue. Whilst long term therapy  explores more habitual behaviours, feelings, or thoughts. Rose will provide a safe, reliable and confidential space   to explore whatever it is that brings you to therapy. Therapy is a process, at times difficult and unsettling but Rose will support and guide you.   How the process unfolds will depend on what it is you are wanting to explore. Rose will, if appropriate, draw on her knowledge of both developmental psychology and analytic therapy. Rose is also interested in the biology of feelings and how the body/mind interaction is  important.  However  Rose  is not prescriptive nor reductionist  she believes that humans are complex and it is  not always  obvious why someone might  behave, feel  or understand the way they do. Ultimately Rose believes having a clearer idea of how your  mind works, from a biological, psychological and at times a philosophical perspective  will help with many aspects of life; relationships,  mental well being and having a sense of ease.

Rose worked in the statutory sector for many years, mainly with individuals who experienced issues with attachment and loss, particularly as a result of adoption, parental separation or emotionally unavailable parents. Rose also has experience of bereavement, having worked in a hospice.
