Rose Simpson is a qualified, experienced psychotherapeutic counsellor. She has a MSc in counselling and psychotherapy. Consistent with Rose’s training she draws on both existential and psychoanalytic approaches when working with clients.

Rose has a private practise based at The Awareness Centre, Clapham. She offers both short term and long term therapy. Short term counselling focuses on immediate life concerns whereas longer term therapy explores habitual life patterns and tendencies. She believes that psychotherapy is about providing a safe, reliable and confidential relationship in which to explore life’s problems. By understanding and making sense of how past experiences might influence current ways of behaving and feeling it is possible that different choices can be made and new ways of behaving can be established.

Rose worked in the statutory sector for many years, mainly with individuals who experienced issues with attachment and loss, particularly as a result of adoption, separation or emotionally unavailable parents. Rose also has experience of bereavement and loss having worked as a counsellor in a hospice, she prepared and supported families and friends with their loss and grief.
