Rosie Sloan is an integrative counsellor currently completing her Level 5 Diploma in Integrative Counselling at The Awareness Centre. She is a BACP Student Member and has completed over 100 hours of online counselling placement within the NHS. She is also currently undertaking an in-person clinical placement at a GP practice in Wandsworth, supporting adults experiencing a wide range of emotional and psychological difficulties. Her clinical experience has enabled her to develop strong therapeutic relationships while working ethically, professionally, and with compassion.  Rosie is committed to providing an inclusive, respectful, and non-judgemental space where clients can explore life’s challenges at their own pace. Whether experiencing anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, stress, or significant life transitions, she works collaboratively with clients to support greater self-awareness, resilience, and a more balanced and fulfilling life.

Rosie works from an integrative perspective, drawing on person-centred, psychodynamic, and solution-focused approaches. She recognises that every individual is unique and believes there is no single therapeutic approach that suits everyone. By tailoring her practice to each client’s individual needs, she aims to create a collaborative therapeutic experience that supports self-awareness, personal growth, and meaningful change.  At the heart of Rosie’s work is the person-centred philosophy, where empathy, authenticity, and unconditional positive regard form the foundation of the therapeutic relationship. She believes that when clients feel genuinely heard, accepted, and understood, they are better able to explore their thoughts and emotions in a safe and supportive environment. Alongside this, Rosie incorporates psychodynamic principles to help clients gain insight into how early life experiences, relationships, and unconscious patterns may continue to influence their current thoughts, emotions, and behaviours. She also integrates solution-focused techniques where appropriate, supporting clients to identify their strengths, build on their resilience, and work towards realistic and meaningful goals.

Before retraining as a counsellor, Rosie built a successful career in the catering industry, progressing from assistant manager to manager before establishing and running her own business for over 15 years. During this time, she led and supported a diverse workforce, working with individuals from a wide range of cultural, social, and professional backgrounds. Her leadership style was grounded in empathy, respect, and a genuine commitment to the wellbeing of others. She was dedicated to creating an inclusive and supportive working environment where people felt valued, heard, and encouraged to develop both personally and professionally.  These experiences sparked a deeper interest in emotional wellbeing and the importance of meaningful human connection, ultimately leading Rosie to pursue a career in counselling. She brings a wealth of life experience, emotional insight, and a calm, grounded presence that helps clients feel safe, supported, and understood throughout their therapeutic journey.
