She is in the second year of L4 Diploma in Integrative Therapeutic Counselling. As a BACP Student Member, Saptamita adhere to the ethical framework and professional standards set by the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). In addition to her counselling work at Clapham, she has been a Bereavement Volunteer with a bereavement charity for the past three years.
Her approach is client-centred, integrating various therapeutic models such as Humanistic, Psychodynamic, Gestalt, and Transactional Analysis to provide a tailored and holistic experience that meets each client’s unique needs. She believes in creating a safe, non-judgmental space where clients feel heard, valued, and empowered to explore their thoughts and emotions. By drawing from different modalities, she ensures flexibility in her approach, allowing therapy to be guided by the client’s individual experiences and personal goals. Her aim is to foster self-awareness, resilience, and personal growth, helping clients build a stronger sense of self and navigate life’s challenges with confidence.
Saptamita specializes in supporting individuals navigating stress, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, and major life transitions. Her extensive experience in bereavement counselling has deepened her understanding of loss and its profound emotional impact. She is dedicated to helping clients process their grief in a way that feels organic and supportive, providing a safe space where they can express their emotions without fear of judgment. Beyond grief work, she is passionate about assisting individuals facing emotional distress, self-esteem struggles, and personal growth challenges, guiding them toward healing, resilience, and self-discovery. Having grown up in India, she deeply empathizes with individuals living away from their home country and understands the unique emotional and cultural challenges they face. She is also comfortable working with clients who speak Bengali and Hindi, allowing her to offer support in a culturally sensitive manner. With over a decade of experience as a professional software engineer, she is well-acquainted with the high-pressure demands of corporate environments and is interested in supporting individuals dealing with workplace stress, burnout, and career-related anxieties. Her diverse background enables her to provide insightful, empathetic support tailored to the complexities of modern professional and personal life.
