Michaela McCarthy – Managing Director
Michaela McCarthy is the Founder and Managing Director of The Awareness Centre Training School. She founded The Awareness Centre (TAC) in 2005, offering safe and confidential therapy services in London. She is a qualified psychotherapist, psychosexual and relationship therapist, clinical supervisor, and tutor. She is senior accredited with the BACP and registered with COSRT. With over 25 years of experience in the field, Michaela is passionate about making therapy accessible and sharing her knowledge.
Michaela works with the training school’s senior team to develop the training courses. She teaches as part of the induction on the counselling courses and also discusses placements with the training groups on the Diploma in Integrative Counselling. Her teaching style is experiential, as she enjoys relating to the students and supporting them on their therapeutic journey. Michaela believes becoming a good therapist is a journey of self-healing and searching for the authentic self.
Michaela is proud of the diverse and experienced group of tutors who teach many different approaches to therapy to support The Awareness Centre Training School’s integrative model. She is also extremely proud of the students who have gone on to qualify and admires their hard work and dedication to this profession.
