Penny Marvin - Course Supervisor

Penelope (Penny) Marvin is a Counselling Supervisor for The Awareness Centre Diploma in Integrative Counselling course. She qualified as a Person-Centred counsellor with ABC Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling, subsequently gaining a BA [Hons] in Counselling Solutions with Hull University. Practicing as an integrative counsellor, she went on to qualify as a Clinical Supervisor with the TAC Centre in 2025. Rooted in Person-Centred principles, Penny prioritises authentic relational connection as the foundation for her professional relationships.

Supervision, for Penny, is about the space in-between, where autonomy, curiosity and professional development can emerge. She believes that counsellors grow best in spaces where they feel safe, listened to and respected. Penny brings presence and genuineness to each session, inviting supervisees to bring their whole selves to the process. Penny supports both counsellors in training and qualified practitioners across differing contexts, walking alongside them as they develop confidence, clarity, and trust.
As a Counselling Supervisor, Penny enjoys helping trainees connect learning with lived experience, strengthening their professional identity, as it begins to take shape.

Alongside supervision, Penny works for a hospice providing counselling support to palliative and bereaved clients, their families and carers and has a small private practice.

Penny particularly values collaboration, integrity, and mutual respect in the supervisory relationship, using Supervision models such at Seven Eyed Model in developing comprehensive oversight. She Looks forward to the opportunity to witness personal and professional development as trainees progress through their studies.
