The Awareness Centre (TAC) is expanding its training offering by introducing a broad new range of continuing professional development (CPD) workshops for therapists.
The range of topics has been chosen to appeal to a wide range of qualified counsellors, psychotherapists and psychologists – as well as for therapists who are still completing their training, and for professionals from other sectors seeking to acquire knowledge and skills in new areas.
Subjects include boosting your practical skills in assessment and risk, enhancing your awareness of mental health issues such as bipolar disorder and psychosis, gaining an overview of therapeutic approaches such as dynamic interpersonal therapy and brief dynamic therapy, and working with creative interventions in therapy. We also offer practical workshops for newly qualified therapists looking to start up in private practice – and how to prioritise self-care as a therapist.

The content and structure of the CPD workshops include a balance of teaching and experiential work, which includes practical exercises, group discussion, information sharing and exploring best practice in the field. You can also bring examples of clinical work to work on during the day. All our CPD workshop facilitators are experts in their field and are happy to share their years of knowledge and experience.
The CPD workshops run on Saturdays from 10am to 4pm at TAC Clapham, 41 Abbeville Road, SW4 9JX. The fee per workshop is £100, payable on booking, which includes refreshments. You will receive a CPD certificate – confirming five hours of CPD – on completion of the course.
TAC Managing Director Michaela McCarthy says: “We’re excited to offer our expanded range of CPD workshops, which will be useful as well as stimulating for therapeutic practitioners looking to deepen their knowledge and refresh their skills.”
