Emma Leonce – Lead Foundation Tutor/Lead Diploma Tutor

Emma Leonce is the Lead Tutor for the Foundation Certificate in Counselling and for the Diploma in Integrative Counselling. She is a a UKCP registered psychotherapist, counsellor and supervisor.  Emma also works in private practice.

Emma’s background is in broadcasting, with a previous career working in television for ten years. She also worked for The Awareness Centre as a Team Leader, in the NHS for Wandsworth and Lambeth, and as the Low Cost administrator.

 As a tutor, Emma’s intention is to lead with authenticity, showing trainees that there is no such thing as the ‘perfect’ counsellor’, the work is to become the counsellor that they are meant to be, drawing upon their intuition, qualities and essence. Her style is explorative, relational and experiential, often drawing upon her experiences with clients.

Emma’s approach to therapy is Transpersonal and she specialises and in working with dreams. She also teaches skills practice to her students, enabling them to develop the therapeutic relationship and integrating theory into their practice to set them up to be ready to work with clients on placement.
