Anders Carvalho - NHS Team Leader Lambeth

Anders is a qualified integrative Counsellor and member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) who works as a Clinical Team Leader for NHS Lambeth.

He strives to create a safe and non-judgmental environment in which clients can explore their most difficult inner thoughts and processes when dealing with a crisis or life uncertainty. He has an intuitive, open, and empathic demeanour and will facilitate your therapeutic journey using an integrative approach; drawing on a range of therapeutic modalities such as Person-Centred, Psychodynamic, CBT, and Existential therapy and having witnessed their effectiveness in treating depression and anxiety first-hand. He accepts and welcomes his clients unconditionally, bringing empathy and understanding to help them process and work through their difficulties.

Anders believes that every client possesses the inner strength and capability to deal with life’s challenges and aims to assist clients in discovering these tools to help them progress in life. He previously worked in the NHS IAPT – Lambeth Talking Therapies, low-cost open-ended counselling in the Awareness Centre, and has a successful private practice. As a Clinical Team Leader, he can now draw on his own experiences to mentor and support other therapists.

Before beginning his career in counselling, Anders worked in the IT sector and has a background in psychology. He is fascinated by existential givens and curious about how people define themselves through the stories they tell. In his private life, Anders is a musician and music writer who also enjoys skateboarding, adrenaline sports, and reading books.
