Aylin Darwin provides a safe and confidential space to help her clients work through any difficulties and views each of them as unique and valuable. She is kind and approachable and employs a psychodynamic approach in her practice. This enables her to help people lessen distress and increase their ability to manage their feelings and relate to others, and ideally improve their experience of life. Aylin’s approach is to explore with her clients the underlying motives behind their behaviour and emotions, and through helping them to develop this understanding, to give them an opportunity for a positive and lasting change.
She has experience of working for a large mental health charity and some other charities providing support for vulnerable adults and individuals from diverse backgrounds. Prior to beginning her therapeutic training, she worked for several large commercial companies in various roles and she therefore understands the stress and pressures of working for large organisations.
She works with people experiencing a range of emotional challenges including stress, depression, anxiety, life transitions or family and relationship issues. Aylin has a particular interest in the emotional difficulties of immigrants, gender-related problems and the impact of the pressures of society to conform to various roles with regards to personal identity and life quality.
Aylin Darwin is a Psychodynamic Counsellor and Psychotherapist and is a student member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). She works for The Awareness Centre’s Low Cost Counselling Service in Tooting. Aylin is currently working towards the completion of a MSc in Psychodynamic Counselling and Psychotherapy.
