Emma Chesterman’s philosophy is simple: everybody has the potential for growth and fulfilment, and deserves to flourish fully in their own unique gifts and aspirations. With clients, she explores both the challenges they face, and also their strengths, goals, and dreams. It’s about creating a life that feels authentic, meaningful, and joyful to them. Empathy, compassion, and kindness are pivotal in Emma’s approach. She strives to create a space where clients feel genuinely heard, understood, and cared for in every interaction – both what is said and what remains unspoken. This ensures that she goes at the client’s own pace, keeping them in control of their own journey. Respect for each individual’s journey and understanding their unique goals and challenges are also key. Emma takes time to listen and respond in a way that acknowledges clients’ situations both emotionally and practically. The fact that these are different for every person is what has prompted Emma to study the different approaches in integrative counselling, coaching, and the mind-body connection, so we have the right set of tools for each person at every stage of their journey.

Emma has had the pleasure and privilege of spending her entire professional career working with people in various ways as they seek to fulfil their potential and build the most joyful, healthy, and meaningful lives they can. She has particular knowledge of how mind and body influence each other, having worked in both mental and physical health (and especially the point where mental and physical health meet). Emma has specialised in stress and anxiety, both of which have strong elements of body and mind. She also extensive experience working with people with neurodiversity, especially ASD and ADHD, as well as widely across cultures and languages, including working in Bolivia. It is a joy to meet people in their diverse gifts and experiences, which can be the source of both pain and strength. She has an interest in working with life changes, such as parenthood, divorce, and retirement, as these can be times of complexity, distress, and uncertainty, but also immensely fertile ground for growth and fulfilment.

Emma is a stress management expert and trainee counsellor and coach, working towards a Level 7 degree in Integrative Counselling and Coaching.  She holds membership of the BACP and works with NHS Lambeth.
