Yesim supports her clients’ therapeutic journey drawing upon other therapeutic modalities such as Psychodynamic, Humanistic and Person-Centred. She believes that every client has the inner strength and capability to deal with life’s challenges and aims to improve clients’ self-awareness in the here-and-now. Yesim offers a safe, non-judgmental and supportive space for her clients to discover themselves and explore different possibilities in life. Yesim is also passionate about creativity and offers her clients different tools to connect with their own creative energy. Yesim has experience in working with attachment disorders, relationship problems, depression, anxiety, stress, low self-esteem; loss and life transitions, self-identity, cultural issues, postnatal depression and maternal mental health. She also has a special interest in polyvagal theory and somatic experiencing.

Yesim is a Gestalt counsellor and diverse range of clients on both short-term and long-term bases. Yesim has an extensive experience of working with children and families, which helps her to connect deeply with her clients’ inner child. Yesim primarily uses a Gestalt approach to counselling and is committed to a holistic view of a person that equally values mind, body and spirit. She is interested in exploring how past experiences influence your feelings in the here-and-now. She also supports her clients to give voice to their physical sensations in the body to gain deeper insights into underlying emotional experiences. As a mindfulness practitioner she creatively incorporates mindfulness practices and body work into the therapy room.

Following a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Master of Arts in Applied Developmental Psychology, she completed a Certificate course in Humanistic Counselling. She is currently in her final year of the Diploma Course in Gestalt Counselling. Yesim is registered with the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and British Psychological Society (BPS) and adheres to their ethical framework. She works within The Awareness Centre’s NHS Counselling Service in Lambeth.
