Hyacinthos Christou is a dedicated psychodynamic and existential psychotherapist based at The Awareness Centre in Clapham. He offers a combination of in-person and online therapy sessions, tailoring his approach to suit each client’s unique needs. With a BSc in Psychology, a Postgraduate Certificate in Psychology and Psychotherapy, and a Postgraduate Certificate in Supervision, Hyacinthos is also a registered member of the ACC. Beyond his formal qualifications, he is a certified yoga instructor and a movement therapist.

Hyacinthos provides both long-term and short-term solution-based psychotherapy. His methods foster self-understanding and encourage clients to adopt new attitudes and perspectives around a variety of life struggles, both personal and relational. His goal is to help clients grow from their struggles, heal from their pain, and move forward to a better place in their lives.

Using a blend of psychodynamic and existential approaches, Hyacinthos helps clients become aware of unconscious behavioral patterns and provides practical tools for finding the most suitable solutions in each session. His guidance is non-judgmental and respectful, assisting clients to make informed decisions followed by suitable symbolic and pragmatic actions. His aim is to help individuals detect patterns, resistances, defence mechanisms against self actualisation, establish self-control, and reclaim self- mastery.

Hyacinthos has an extensive expertise in addressing individuals’ and couples’ issues such as disconnection, trauma, depression, anxiety, eating disorders, gender and LGBTQ+ relationships, addictions; as well as an extensive research in psychosexual disorders
