Simon Bubb is a trainee integrative counsellor, registered with the BACP, working within The Awareness Centre’s low-cost counselling service in Tooting. He has over a decade’s experience running groups and retreats helping men feel comfortable to share what’s going on for them, understand themselves better and find their own way forward. As a one-to-one counsellor, he brings this experience to his work with people of all genders and backgrounds. He is competent to work with neurodiversity and understands that not all brains are the same.
Starting therapy can be daunting, so Simon takes care to offer a calm, compassionate presence to enable you to explore whatever brings you to therapy at your own pace. Each client is unique, and different approaches will work for different people. For some, being truly listened to and understood is all they need to move forward. You might value being helped to explore what is keeping you stuck in certain patterns. For clients experiencing anxiety, an approach that works directly to regulate your nervous system might be the right place to start.
Simon has a background as a professional actor and brings spontaneity and creativity to his work with clients, while understanding from personal experience the need to find stability and resilience in the midst of an unpredictable and demanding career. As a member of the BACP, he works within their Ethical Framework for good practice. He attends regular clinical supervision and is committed to ongoing professional and personal development.
