  • Depression
  • Communication Issues

  • Guilt & Shame

Simone De Melis, supports his clients by offering an empathic, warm, and non-judgmental space. He strives to create an environment where clients can feel safe and freely express themselves. Simone aims to help the clients not only to address their issues, but also to develop their full potential in life by focusing on personal strengths and abilities. He prioritises their needs by using both a directive and non-directive approach to allow the clients to find their own solution rather than imposing the expert view. Simone provides a tailored therapeutic space to clients, and, to this end, he adopts an integrative and pluralistic approach which draws from different theories and approaches. He may use person-centred therapy to empower the client and offer emotional containment. He can facilitate insight through the psychodynamic theory and employ the Cognitive-Behavioural approach in problem-solving.

Simone’s background includes childcare. His interests include the resolution of relational family conflicts, which in his experience can be achieved through recognising and managing dysfunctional communication patterns. He has a particular interest in depression, anxiety, concentration and memory, and obsessive-compulsive disorder. OCD and culture happen to be the focus of his forthcoming dissertation.

Simone is a trainee integrative counsellor; he is registered with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and works at the NHS counselling service in Lambeth for The Awareness Centre.
