Steph Whitelaw promotes a safe and reflective space, where clients can explore their issues without judgement. Counselling from a Person-Centred approach allows clients to find their most authentic self, harnessing empathy, congruence and unconditional positive regard for her clients. Steph may utilise approaches from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Psychodynamic Therapy. Harnessing these skills provides a variety of methods to support her clients with what they are presenting with. Steph’s therapy is tailored around providing a space for her clients which allows her clients to feel safe, heard and supported, which allows for effective change.

With a background of personal experiences, Steph has a keen interest in addiction and relationship issues. She understands that each person has their own experiences in life which lead them to therapy. She works to provide a catalyst for change, in an empathic and self-reflecting arena. Steph promotes an understanding that each client has the right to safe and ethical practice, with the focus being on the client. She promotes the opportunity for her clients to have autonomy for their own recovery. Steph has a passion for therapy, which translates in her therapeutic work.

Steph is currently working towards a Level 4 diploma in Therapeutic Counselling. She is a member of BACP and works for The Awareness Centre at their NHS Wandsworth service.
