Virginie Dainton is a qualified counsellor and psychotherapist and a registered member of BACP (MBACP). She is a Certified Transactional Analyst (CTA) – holding a MSc in TA Psychotherapy, a Diploma in TA Psychotherapeutic Counselling and Certificates in Humanistic Counselling Skills and Studies, Mindfulness and Neuroscience. Virginie works in private practice at The Awareness Centre in Clapham. She also has experience working with NHS patients at a GP surgery in Lambeth as well as with patients in rehab at the Priory Hospital Roehampton.

Virginie’s approach to therapy is humanistic and in line with the Transactional Analysis philosophy that People are born OK and have an inner ability to grow towards health and self-realisation. Virginie believes in the healing power of the therapeutic relationship. Her view is that present issues are often linked to repressed experiences from childhood or traumatic events that were not able to be understood, empathised with and resolved – leading to limiting beliefs about self, others and life. Within the caring, non-judgemental and empathic stance of the therapeutic relationship, clients can learn to better understand and accept themselves, and feel empowered to make new fulfilling choices about their life.

Virginie has experience working with anxiety, depression, abuse, addiction, identity issues, low self-esteem, guilt & shame and relationship issues. She has a special interest in co-dependency. Her aim is to facilitate a safe, trusting and authentic therapeutic environment that can help clients explore freely their difficulties as well as challenge their limiting beliefs and unhelpful relationship patterns.

Virginie offers therapy in English and French.
