Rinat Shemesh is a Course Supervisor for the TAC Diploma in Integrative Counselling. She holds an MA in Integrative Counselling Practice from the University of Derby, and trained as a Child and Adolescent (Psychoanalytic) Psychotherapist at The Tavistock Clinic. She is currently completing her PhD in Psychoanalytic Studies at the University of Essex. In addition, Rinat has qualified as a Supervisor from the Tavistock Clinic Supervision course.
Rinat works in the NHS in CAMHS clinics, where she sees children, young adults, and parents, and where she manages trainees and newly qualified clinicians. Rinat believes in the education and development of new clinicians through the experience of supervision.
Rinat also works with adults in a charity and in private practice.
Rinat supervises extensively, both individual clinicians and groups, in the NHS and privately.
Rinat teaches at the Tavistock Clinic, on the Adult Psychotherapy course and the Child and Adolescent Psychoanalytic Studies pre-clinical course.
Rinat believes in the great value of supervision, and in providing trainees with a safe and containing space to explore their work, and to search for meaning and understanding in a supportive environment. She offers exploration of different theories and approaches to enable a wider understanding, looking at clinical material from broader perspectives and angles, to support curiosity and development.
